How to Build NextCloud Server with Attune?

Just for the record, NextCloud is a powerful open-source and secure PHP-based content collaboration platform responsible for file sharing and synchronization. It provides a secure, safe, and flexible solution that enables users to access more than one file directory or folder on their computer and synchronizes them with a NextCloud server.

So, if you’re thinking of setting up a NextCloud server, this guide is all you need. It only requires a few simple steps. However, setting up the NextCloud server with Attune is way easier than others. So, what are you waiting for? Take a tour of the article and set up the NextCloud server with Attune right away.

Set up NextCloud Server with Attune

Attune is a powerful server automation tool that uses PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts. Attune is the best platform for you to standardize your organization’s internal processes.

So, now let’s begin our journey to set up the NextCloud with Attune.

Step 1 – Login Window

In the first instance, you’ve got to log in to Attune. Enter your username and password on the login screen and press the login button. In the beginning, you will notice a fresh Attune server with nothing on it. Attune is responsible for centralizing all your cloud automation, archives, and automation steps in a single server.

Step 2 – Import Process

Now, it’s time we start our archive processes and automation steps. To do so, start importing into Attune and wait for the Attune to complete the process. Import preview screen will unfold on your display screen. Check out the Procedure tab to view the data that has been brought into the Attune.

  • Data in Attune

There is a primary procedure called Build NextCloud Server CentOS B-PRL, in which there are several different procedures. The first step will create a new central virtual machine, whereas the following three steps will build an ISO specifically for the machine.

  • Execute SSH Command Step

Once CentOS installs and arrives over the network, you can view it and start running new scripts against it. Following KS PRL Setup NextCloud, Disks will add two extra disks, giving it the much-needed space for your fall storage. Now, these steps will install PHP, EPEL release packages, and SE Linux, etc.

Step 3 – Update Variable

Check out the variables that came along with the procedure import. Just to be clear, a Variable is just a name with a type. The variables can be used when running Attune, even in scripts. You can even edit the variables if needed.

Step 4 – Values

Be sure to check the values considering the procedure imports do not contain any passwords. Hence, you need to set up passwords during Attune NextCloud server setup. I believe you’ll notice that different values are mapped to the variable by the Plans. Values hold the details that are awarded to the scripts while they run.

Step 5 – Plans

Now, you need to create a Plan. The Plans will map all the variables to the values of a particular NextCloud server you want to build. To lessen the stress, you’ll have to go through, default values are already set for the server. All we need is to fill out some custom values for the server. Also, if you wish to create two NextCloud servers or create another plan with a different target server.

Step 6 – Jobs

Moving forward, create a new Job to run the plan we have created in the previous step. Click Run to see the progress bar. A Job includes every step the procedure contains, and captures logs against every step. At this stage, attune is waiting for CentOS to complete installation and unfold on the network with SSH enabled. You’ll witness the automation steps on-screen using Attune web app user interface rather than wait to install CentOS manually.

Error Log

The exciting part is PowerShell and Bash both have flags that you can set. It will cause the script to exit if any of the commands fail. Attune will stop if any script returns with a failure exit code. You can fix the error halfway through the procedure and rerun the step and watch it complete successfully.

Now, try these simple steps yourself and set up NextCloud with Attune right away.
