This smartphone is just like any other Galaxy phone in terms of appearance. It comes with a plastic outer casing held in place by thin metal side bezels. This is all with respect to the appearance. About its dimensions, it has length of 152.2 mm and a breadth of 78.7 mm. The thickness is pretty average around 7.5 mm approximately. This gives a pretty handy look. It weighs around 171 g and is on the heavier side for sure. This makes it pretty bulky. And this smartphone comes in three colours as usual like all Galaxy phones. Black, White and Gold are the three variants available.



The screen is sized at 5.5 inches and is pretty good for the cost. The display is made of Super AMOLED touch screen which operates with capacitive touch. The overall resolution of this smart phone is 720 x 1280 pixels. The pixel density is 267 ppi approximately. It has amazing multi touch interface too.


The OS on which this phone functions is the Android OS v 5.1 (Lollipop). The chipset used is Qualcomm MSM8939. This chipsets make is Snapdragon 615 Exynos 7580 Octa Core. This smartphone uses a pair of processors. They are two quad core cortex – A53 processors. One functions at 1.4 GHz speed and the other at 1.0 GHz speed. The graphics interface is taken care by the Adreno 405.


The internal memory capacity is 16GB for this smart phone. In case more storage is necessary, option of externally expanding storage up to 128 GB is available. This expansion can be achieved with a microSD card. The RAM memory is a bare minimal 1.5 GB.


Samsung Galaxy J7 comes with a 3000 mAh battery. It is a Li – ion battery and can be removed by the users itself. The approximate estimated talk time is up to 18 h when in the 3G mode. The battery lasts up to 76 h when subjected to music playback.


Camera: It comes with both front as well as back camera. The back is 13 MP and the front is 5MP. For a Samsung phone of this cost these specifications for the camera is quite nominal. The back camera or the main camera has a lens whose aperture size (Diopter) is f/1.9. Its wide angle range is around 28 mm. The other supportive features which enhances the shots while capturing are LED Flash and AutoFocus with couple of few other features.
