Challenge Your Brain with the Top 3 Word Search Puzzle Games

Do you enjoy playing word puzzle games like crosswords, Scrabble and Hangman? If so, then you’ve arrived at the right place! I am a big fan of word games, as I find them to be a great way to relax while challenging your brain and learning new words at the same time. While there are many types of games, word search games are among my favorites. They are easy to pick up and play on-the-go but challenging enough to tickle your brain as you need to use both your creativity and your vocabulary skills to beat them!

After having played quite a few word search puzzles, I thought it would be a good idea to compile a list of my top 3 favorites. I wrote a short review and listed some of the pros and cons of each game, so you can easily find the best one for you.

Infinite Word Search Puzzles – Rating: 4.5, Downloads: 5M+

Infinite Word Search is my first pick. One of the reasons I really like it is because you can choose from a wide variety of word puzzle categories. So, whether you want to test your medical vocabulary skills, or you want to see how you measure up in other categories such as transportation, brands, and movies, you can easily find a game to play on any topic. I also like that you can choose from different game modes, ranging from timed puzzles to an endless mode where you can take all the time you want. Another feature I really like is that you can play against your friends or other players online in a Multiplayer Mode!

Are you an experienced word search player? Although you might find the first few puzzles a bit easy, you can rest assured that the difficulty level increases as you advance. While there is no way to skip the easy levels, they are a great way to practice your skills before you hit the hard levels!

Pros: Dozens of puzzle categories, multiple game modes, online multiplayer mode.

Cons: Cannot skip easy levels.

Overall: Try your hand at word search puzzles in a wide variety of categories, but you will need to complete the easier levels before you reach the higher difficulty ones.

WordWhizzle Search – Rating: 4.6, Downloads: 1M+

My second pick is WordWhizzle. I found this to be a great choice if you are looking for a game with many (and I mean many!) word search puzzles. Supposedly, there are more than 2700 puzzles, which is more than I can ever imagine completing. And while I can’t say that I have played through 200 yet, I can say that they are really fun and well made. I also like how puzzles are categorized by difficulty level, which gets harder and harder the further you advance. Like my previous pick, you can also play online and challenge your friends to a game.

While I like to think of myself as an expert at word games, the truth is that I did need a bit of help getting through some of the harder levels. Thankfully, if you are stuck on a puzzle, you can use in-game hints for a nudge in the right direction. And, the more puzzles you solve, the more hints you earn!

Pros: 2700+ puzzles, multiple difficulty levels, online mode.

Cons: Higher levels can be quite challenging.

Overall: Test your vocabulary skills with thousands of word puzzles that get more difficult as you advance, although you may need to use hints to get through some of the higher levels.

Wordscapes – Rating: 4.9, Downloads: 10M+

Wordscapes is my third pick. What I really like about is that it uniquely combines crossword puzzles with word search games. Ultimately, the goal of each level is to solve a crossword but to do that you need to uncover hidden words on a letter wheel. I also like how you are rewarded with tokens by finding words that are not used in the crossword. And, if you get stuck on a level you can exchange any tokens you’ve earned for in-game hints. I also love the puzzle themes, as you can solve puzzles against relaxing backdrops including an ocean, desert, forest, and more.

The only thing I am not a fan of is the ads, as they do appear occasionally in between games. Thankfully, they are short and non-intrusive, so you can get back to playing quickly. You also have the option to remove them for a small fee if you prefer.

Pros: Unique take on word search puzzles, in-game hints, themed levels.

Cons: Occasional ads.

Overall: Play a unique game that combines crosswords and word search puzzles, but keep in mind that you will see ads occasionally in between levels.

Conclusion

I hope you like my top 3 picks for word search puzzles. I have played them for countless hours, and I still find them to be as fun as the first time I played them. If you can’t get enough of word puzzles, then you should take a look at this website I found during my research.
