Be Blinded by Your Score, Not Your Screen: How Gaming Glasses Can Save Your Eyes

Video games can easily drag you into time warps. You end up sitting down to play for twenty minutes, you finish playing and realise it is nine hours later. What kind of damage are you doing to your eyes staring at a screen for so long though and can glasses for video gaming prevent damage?

Protection for your Eyes

There are a number of reasons why playing video games for long periods of time can damage your eyes. The increased strain on your eyes can cause a large amount of other symptoms to appear. These can include, but are not limited to headaches, blurred vision, dry eyes and irritated eyes. The wearing of gaming glasses protects your eyes from all of these issues and ensures that you can play games for as long as you like without causing long term damage.

How Does it Work?

One of the worst things about using a computer is the blue light the screen gives off. Blue light makes it incredibly difficult for you to get a good night’s sleep. This causes a number of issues for you throughout the next day. A lack of sleep the night before makes it hard to concentrate and retain information. Blue light causes much more than just insomnia though.

Blue light causes you to strain your eyes when you look at the screen. This can make it difficult for your eyes and can cause fatigue. In the short term this makes your eyes exhausted and causes headaches. In the long term this can increase the chance of your eyes succumbing to degenerative eye diseases by up to 12%. Blue light increases macular degeneration on your eyes and photochemical damage to the retina.

It isn’t just eye diseases that blue light can stimulate though. Blue light disrupts your melatonin production. As previously mentioned this makes it difficult for you to get the sleep you need, but it also increases your chances of becoming depressed. Your hunger hormones are also affected, leading to an increased chance of obesity and diabetes.

All of these issues are highly worrying if you play video games for long periods of time. It’s not just video games either that cause strain to the eyes, any activity where you look at a screen for long periods of time can cause issues with your eyes.

Gaming glasses stop these issues though. By halting blue light from passing into the eye it means that all of these issues become a thing of the past. Your sleep patterns can get back to normal, meaning your memory improves and you don’t feel drowsy throughout the day. Your eyes aren’t under as much strain meaning that they don’t take as much short term damage, but it also means that they aren’t at risk of long term damage.

If you care about your eyes and you enjoy long gaming sessions then gaming glasses are exactly what you need. They won’t just improve your health but they will keep your eyes sharp and your game will improve. Gaming glasses are the answer to all of your eye problems.
