Daphne The Naiad Beauty

Daphne is the naiad or nymph of Greek mythology and she is associated with the goddesses of beauty and beauty, the naiads (or nymphs) of the ancient world. Daphnes, which means laurel, a goddess of flowers was the daughter of Aphrodite and Aphroditus

The word nymph comes from the Greek and Latin for “nymph” and is described as “beautiful” or “lovely” in the sense of “ladylike” and not “pretty” as in Greek or Latin. In ancient Greek and Roman mythology, nymphs were semi-divine beings who represented sweet girls.

Daphne was determined to remain unmarried and untouched by a man by the rest of her life but because she was incredibly beautiful, she caught the eye of the god Apollo and was captured by him.

There are several versions of the myth in which this appears, but the general narrative appears is as follows:

According to Greek mythology, the god Apollo offended Eros, god of love. Angry, he shoots a golden arrow at Apollo, who falls in love with the nymph and a lead arrow that made Daphne hate Apollo.

In order to escape from him and to protect her virginity, she pleaded for help from her father, who transformed her into a laurel tree as a mean to escape Apollo’s unwanted attention.

Apollo then accepts the laurel as his sacred plant and to remember her for ever, he made the laurel the symbol of tribute to poets..
