Lava A77 with front flash launched at just Rs.6099

Lava has established themselves a niche market in low-end and mid-range by attracting customers through their highly competitive and affordable prices in India.

Lava has just launched a new smartphone in India, featuring 4G Voice over LTE support and running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Named the Lava A77, it has an MRP of INR 6,099, but is retailing for as low as INR 4,999, at established offline retailer notes. It will be available in three colors Blue, Gold, and Grey offering some choices for fans.

The dual-SIM Lava A77 sports a 4.5-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC coupled with 1GB of RAM. As for optics, the Lava A77 features a 5-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter, both featuring LED flash modules, the highlight being the front LED which is becoming more and more common these days.
The Lava A77 bears 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable through microSD (up to 32GB). Connectivity options on board the Lava A77 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, and Micro-USB. Sensors on the phone include an accelerometer. It is powered by a 2000mAh removable battery, and weighs 160 grams.

Lava’s last major launch this year was for the Lava Z10 and Lava Z25. The pair of new mid-range smartphones boast of a premium metal design and durability. The Lava Z10 and Z25 smartphones support 4G VoLTE connectivity and are priced at Rs. 11,500 and Rs. 18,000, respectively. The Z10 will be offered in Gold while the Z25 will come in Champagne Gold and Grey color options. Both the smartphones also come equipped with the latest multilingual keyboard that supports eleven regional Indian languages. They also support Smart Gestures, OTG and 3 Point Touch which is incredible

Here are the full specs:

Lava A77 with front flash

Display: 4.5 inch (if you are bored with the regular 5 and 5.5 inch displays, then this might just be for you. The nostalgia of 4 and 4.5 inch displays is picking up lately)

Processor: 1.3 GHz. Quad-core processor which is great considering the price point.

Cameras: Both 5 MP (front and rear) with LED flashes.

Storage: 8GB

Battery capacity: 2000 mAh.

Drawbacks:

RAM: 1 GB which is the only drawback of this phone considering the performance issues it might cost as Android has become too dependent on at least 2Gigs of RAM. But we cannot complain considering the dirt cheap pricing on this phone. Also it runs Android Marshmallow which is outdated and may never get Android 0.

Aesthetically, the phone is not that appealing but is neutral to my taste. It comes off as a regular phone with nothing outstanding and doesn’t stand out from the crowd. But for everyone who are on a strict budget or just want a smartphone as a spare to try out new things, this Lava A77 just might be for you. Go for it if you want a super affordable phone that doesn’t break your bank.
